Let’s start at the end, a very good place to start…
I must apologize for that lame, previous post. We were teaching James' family “How to Update Your Blog 101” and I did a fake post. I accidentally hit “Print” instead of “Draft”, and once something is up, it's up. So I edited it so it wasn't just the “a'soru9u32[9 us;lkd” I'd had before. I will provide links to all the family blogs once they are up and running.
We are home. The trip home was easier then the trip out. We left earlier and with the assumption that Alex would fuss and need out of his car seat every hour to two hours, and so we weren't surprised (like we where when we were going). The usual (no-kids) 10 hour drive only took us 11. Will was awake for all four tunnels w
e go through and he loved them. He kept pointing out to us “the stop of the tunnel” (the light at the end of the tunnel). He did very well for 8 hours, and then we broke out the borrowed, portable DVD player. That was a nice treat for him, and nice for us as we were able to listen to our book on tape in a bit more peace then before. After his two shows, he told us "No night-night", and fell asleep 10 minutes later.
While we were eating dinner, I asked Will his favorite part about the trip. He said, “Playing with Annika and Simeon!” It was fun for him to have kids to play with all the time (MUCH more fun then Mom or Dad). He also had fun playing with his younger cousin Micah (or Micah-man!). Also, we had great weather all week, so they could play outside most of the time.
We got home, and as we were unloading the car, I commented we hadn't needed our funeral clothes we brought. We found out this morning James grandmother passed away about an hour after I made that remark. We are glad James was at least able to say Good-bye to her.
