Something to say…
Tina's Blog July 11th, 2006I was told I needed to post by my MIL, since James' "complaining" (her words, not mine) had been at the top long enough. I've had several things to say, bouncing around in my head, I just have not had the time to process them enough to make a good post.
I guess I should update you on my progress in our diet challenge. I have lost 9 lbs. According to James' calculations, I have lost 12 pounds of fat and gained 3 pounds of muscle. How does he know that? I really don't know. He explained it to me and I zoned out didn't understand how. I will take his word. I like thinking I've lost more fat, and have those muscle cells sitting there burning calories all the time. Go Muscle Cells!!!! I do know I've cheated a few times in the last few weeks, probably part of the reason I've lost more then he has. My goal this week is to cut that out…we have a day we can eat whatever we want, wait until then. The one problem with that is, there just isn't enough time in the day to eat all the foods I've craved all week.
After a horrible weekend on the potty front, Will has done much better in the last two days. We made it to the office, the bank, the store and home with NO accidents!!! We did have an accident or two at home, but he's wearing underwear and shorts all the time now, and when he needs to go, he goes completely on his own. (YEA!!!) I am thrilled with the progress. When you start to potty train DO NOT get: "Potty Train In Three Days" by Lois Kleint. Junk. Crap. I now disagree with EVERYTHING I read in there. I won't bore most of you with all my problems with it–if you want to know, e-mail me and I'll be happy to lay out my case.
In the last week, Alex has learned to sit up. Last Sunday, they asked us if he could. I said, "Um, only for a few seconds". By this Sunday he was able to. Now he can sit up for longer then 5 minutes, he can move around sitting up, reach over and grab toys and help himself regain his balance. When he's laying on his tummy he's starting to push up, he's almost on his hands and knees (right before crawling)…I am VERY not ready for that! He turns 6 months on Thursday. SIX months?!? Where did it go? He still has those pesky two bottom teeth looking like they're going to cut through, but not coming out yet. He is a Daddy boy–anytime he sees James he just lights up with a HUGE smile. So far our adjustment to having two kids has been pretty easy (SO FAR). Will is (mostly) very sweet with his brother, and it is fun to watch. We'll see how it continues when his brother starts to crawl and take his toys!
Well, I fell my work here is done. Now, I must head to bed.
