Quip of the Day

Tina's Blog October 7th, 2006

Will is sitting in the chair, feet (with shoes on them) on the chair.

Me: Will, take off your shoes, please.
Will: Why?
Me: Why do you think?
Will: Because we are standing on Holy Ground?

To help you understand how he came about this answer, his Bible Story of choice has been “Baby Moses and The Burning Bush” (they are right next to each other in his Bible, so we read both of them). In the part about the burning bush, Moses is told to take off his sandels because he is standing on Holy Ground.

Will and Alex in 18 years

Tina's Blog October 5th, 2006

Now that we know how to insert videos (one of Will was inserted below), we’re on a roll. This video is really funny. Really, REALLY funny. As in I laughed VERY much the two times I saw it and was still laughing later when I’d think of it. Or maybe that says more about me then the video. But I recommend you watch it, it is only a few minutes long.

Scene: In the hallway
Time: Tonight (10/5/06) @ 6:32

James: When you get bigger, do you want to mow the lawn?
Will: YES!

Just so we have it in writing for when it is needed.

Will performing Pre-School lesson

Tina's Blog October 4th, 2006

I mentioned Will’s little “rhyme” or “poem” he learned in pre-school. Here he is preforming it. We think it is supposed to go “Gray squirrel, gray squirrel
Shake your bushy tail.
Wrinkle up your little nose,
Stick a nut between your toes.
Gray squirrel, gray squirrel
Shake your bushy tail.”

Will gets a bit confused when he says it, though. Plus, with him on the bed, he kept trying to jump. But it’s still cute and only about a minute 17 seconds, so we thought we’d share.

Consider that lesson learned…

Tina's Blog October 3rd, 2006

Did you know Veggie Tales are on TV? (Ok, we're probably the last people to figure that out.)  I knew The Adventures of Larry Boy was on, but didn't realize Veggie Tales were on an hour before until this Saturday–when my SIL called, asking if we'd record them for them.  So we recorded it (for us as well). And Will has watched it several times since then. This week was the one with the Vikings & sharing. A good thing for a little boy to learn! Will likes the Veggie Tales, not a fan of Larry Boy or 3-2-1 Penguins.

This afternoon I was making brownies for my MOPS meeting tonight. Will saw me and asked what I was doing. I told him, "This is for my Mom's Group tonight" and he said "It's good to share brownies".

Edited to add: I did end up sharing one with him–when I brought home leftovers. He was quite excited.
