Parenting is just one experiment after another.

Experiment #1: This morning we gave Alex Cheerios…that it. He loves to feed himself, so I thought he'd be fine. He ate a large amount and seemed fine. I put him to bed and he was fussing. When I picked him up, he kept doing his "I'm hungry" signs (signing "More" or clapping–depending on how you interpert it and keeping his mouth open), so I put him in the high chair and fed him some baby food. I stared with peaches, which he ate very well. I figured it was because they were peaches (yummy). He still was signing "More", so I pulled a 1/2 full jar of peas. I figured if he'd eat cold peas, he was REALLY hungry. He ate that 1/2 jar and most of a second one.

Conclusion: Dry Cheerios are not enough for breakfast. We'll go back to feeding him oatmeal.

Experiment #2: I took the boys to the Children's Museum.  Preschool did not meet today because they are a voting site. We were house bound yesterday & I knew we needed to get out today! This was my first time to take them by myself  since Alex has been heavier and/or mobile. (Last time it was just the boys and I, he was small enough to be in a Snugglie).  I was a bit nervous how I'd handle having two kids who wanted to play but thanks to the Kids Playroom, Will could run around and play where I could watch him, and Alex got to crawl around in a special area for kids just his age.  Both boys did a great job!

Conclusion: The perfect activity for a rainy Tuesday!
