Things that make you go “Huh?”
Tina's Blog November 29th, 2006Today we were leaving the store and getting into the car. Will was "kind of" in his car seat (he gets in the car while I put Alex in his car seat, then I go back and buckel him in) standing up in the door way, licking rain drops off the car (that's a whole 'nother "HUH?" there). I was starting to get Alex out of the front of the shopping cart when a man walking by smiled, said "Looks like you have your hands full. Are they twins?"
I said "No" and he said (as he's walking by) "Oh, they must be close then!"
I did cheerfully tell him "No, they're over 2 years apart!" and waited to shake my head until I was in the car.

Funny. I suppose if I wasn’t a parent, I could imagine being that clueless.

To his credit, they are both under 3 feet tall!

Yes, but one was standing in the doorway of the car. And one was so tiny I had to carry him to his car seat. But yes, like Randy said, if you don’t have kids (or have grown up kids) it probably is hard to tell. Which is why I was friendly with him.
