Finally, I Can Write Again!
Tina's Blog July 8th, 2007Last week was a fun, crazy, stressful week. I had two deadlines looming over my head. First, there was an URGENT project for the office. Then, I had agreed to teach in our Adult Sunday School class today. On Islam/Muslims. What do I know about that topic? Nothing. Just something that interested me, and by teaching it, I learned a great deal. But that required a great deal of research! Combine those two things with family being in town and we were BUSY. So I didn't feel I could take time to write. Last night I was done preparing and had time to play around with loading pictures up, but didn't really have the brain power to write much. The cold I caught on Friday helped zap what little I had!
A few highlights of the week:
Monday we went to the zoo. My dad, mom, Grandfather & Aunt (both had flown in from AZ to visit) drove down to our house and we all went to the zoo. I was SO thankful for all the extra help with the boys! Will is at the perfect age for the zoo, he LOVED it. Alex…he loved pushing the stroller around. Or was content to sit in the stroller as long as we were going. As soon as we stopped to look at something he would start saying "OUT! OUT!". Highlights of the visit had to be the new Oceans Exhibit (you could pet sharks! But they kept , the polar bear that swam right by us, the penguins, the butterfly exhibit and the ice cream snack. I didn't get any pictures–there were four other adults there with cameras that took a TON so I just managed kids and will be getting copies eventually. This day was also the first time I ignored the sacred "Nap Time". We usually will push it back, but never have ignored the time, hoping that a child will sleep in the stroller. Didn't work. He was much too interested in all the things going on around him. We left around three, and Alex fell asleep before we left the parking lot.
Wednesday was the big holiday. You already read about James' run. I wanted to get there for the boys to see Daddy crossing the finish line & cheer him on. But, we didn't know the route the racers took and got stuck at the intersection they had the racers cross. By the time we got to the finish line James was eating with his co-workers. We got home and packed up to go to my parent's house. We had a fun time eating and talking, talking and eating. It was a beautiful, cool day. That evening James, my Dad and my Aunt took Will to the local concert/fireworks show. There were a few problems there, with the show starting later then they expected and then the fireworks taking longer to start then expected. They didn't get back to the house until 11:30–and we still had to drive home! I was amazed Will stayed up that late with no problems. He enjoyed the fireworks so I think that made it worth it. But next year we'll do a local show.
So, it's been two crazy weeks in a row! NOW we'll get back down to normal, right?
