Out of Touch

Wow, it’s been so long since I’ve blogged the “auto-remember” part of the program (that remembers my log-in name and password) had forgotten me! SO not good!
I got stuck…I kept wanting to finish up our vacation and then stuff kept happening and I felt I couldn’t blog until I got the older stuff up! Right now I’ve decided to break the log-jam and try to get caught up.
I’m sitting outside on our swing, watching the boys blow bubbles. I LOVE our wireless/lap top combination! I have pictures I want to put up, but the camera is inside, so that will have to wait. Here are some highlights of our last few weeks:
- We left off right before Thursday, with a day trip down to Philly to see James’ brother and his family. We had a great time and I’ll put up pictures later. I finally gave in and bought a sweater on sale at Pennys (for $5), because it was STILL rather cool.
- The van was inspected at some point in here and we agreed to buy it. I will get a picture up of it soon. It’s the same blue as our car, so just imagine a longer version of our car.
- We drove home Saturday. Of course that was the day it cleared up, the sun came out and it warmed up…as we were driving west in a van with out air conditioning. Of all the days to WANT clouds and cool weather! But we survived. I was really hot from 1-3 but some clouds moved in after that for part of the time and made it a bit more bearable.Â
- Tuesday the boys had their first soccer class. This is more one that teaches skills, not just a team where they play against other people. While Will wants to play against other teams and have a uniform, we thought learning some skills would be a good thing–he, of course, thinks he doesn’t need any, because he already knows how to kick the ball (not lacking on self-confidence, is he?). They had a fun time but it was the hottest day of the year! So afterwards they cooled off in the water features that park has at it and we had a picnic lunch. This will be a weekly event all summer.
- After that hot day, we had rain and it cooled off. I can’t remember what we did the rest of the week!
Edited to add–I added pictures of what we did Wednesday, we went to the place with the Bounce Houses. This is why I take pictures, so I can remember to blog things!
- Friday Will and I went up to visit a friend in Marion. He played with her daughter while she and I scrapbooked Friday night and all day Saturday. We had a great time and fun getting some work done. Will enjoyed playing. James and Alex went to a birthday party of one of his boss’ daughters, so Alex got to do some fun times too.
- Saturday night we went to another friend’s house for Italian Fest, a chance to support friends who are going to be missionaries in Italy. That was a great time except for one tiny detail. Will was running around and fell rather hard on his shoulder. Neither James nor I saw the fall so we don’t quite know how it happened but he’s been favoring it and it’s been causing him to cry since then. I took him to the Doctor today and after having to get it X-rayed, we found out he has a fracture on his left clavicle. So tomorrow we’ll go a Ped. Specialist and find out more/get it put in a sling. And miss soccer class #2 of the summer (and who knows how many more).
- When we were at the Dr. today she told us if it was broken she’d send us to a specialist. Alex said “Why is she not special?” That made me laugh. When they called to conform it was broken, Will said, “Hmmm….I’ve never had a broken bone before!” James keeps insisting that Miles’ don’t break bones, so it ust be a Harbin bone he broke.
So there you go, we’re all caught up for now. I’ll try to put up some pictures later.
