More Funny Conversations

Friday night I went to Kroger where I noticed they had a package of 5 dozen eggs on sale for $2. Since one dozen eggs costs $1, this was a great deal–you get 3 dozen free! James likes eggs in the morning, and I know of several recipes that we could use those for supper, so I picked them up.  When I was checking out the cashier asked me, “So are you going to do some bakin’ or do you just like eggs?”  As she was asking, the cashier next to her asked, “Did you just ask her if she was going egging?!?” We all got a laugh about that as I said “Yeah, the kids are in bed, I thought I’d go egging now.”

Tonight Alex asked James: Daddy, will you put my shoes on?
James: I can try, but I don’t think they’ll fit.
Alex: Not on you, on ME!
James: How do you ask?
Alex: Please?
James: Please, What?
Alex: Daddy, will you put my shoes on?
James: I can try, but I don’t think they’ll fit.
Alex: Not on you, on ME!
James: How do you ask?
Alex: Please?
James: Please, What?
Alex: Daddy will you put my shoes on?

At this point James and I were laughing really hard and it was rather difficult to point out to him the need to say “Please, will you put my shoes on ME?”.

  1. How about “Mommy, will you put my shoes on?”

  2. He knows Mommy will say “Try to do it yourself” or “Ask Daddy”. Actually, that was after supper, but I was still eating so he knew not to bother me. :)
